Had been meaning to go see Lao Jiang in Minhang district since bought my bike(1 yr and half?). Out of some reason, the trip got delayed till yesterday…for a very good reason of course: the Mid-autumn festival.

The 11th Mid-Autumn Festival, without family.That’s right.

As a directional moron, checking the route as detailed as possible is a must. Here’s how I got there:

(East Zhuanxing Road, some part of the road is under construction, a bit jolting, not wise to choose this road)-》颛兴路(ZhuanXing Road)

Basically, it went well, reached my friend’s at around 4 pm:

The most wonderful thing would be that the dinner was already ready:

After the dinner, we went for the movie“ 大武生”.  Awesome movie, awesome~

And the next day, i.e today, my friend cooked again. Little celebration with grape wine:

Time elapsed.  Tried a new route back:

The road sign to the ferry  from Minhang to Pudong is  clear; whereas from Minhang to Pudong, way too obscure. You need to be veli careful.Asking the local would be advisable, otherwise you would probably miss it, as it’s located in a lesser-known path. Just remember, when you reach No.609沿浦路, turn right.

                                                                                                No.609 turn right:

The most tragic thing would be that I went for this god-damn road (沿江路) after exiting the ferry. It looks good in the map!All of a sudden, a lot of what-ifs were bottled up in my check like kidneystones ..what if the tyre got punctured, what if I got lost, what if…?

Thank god, none of these happened.

Good Route for Cycling

As the Shanghai expo has gone, the expo area has become a good place to cycle around.

Not so bad ,huh?

Besides that, I found East Hua Xia road to be a very very good route for cycling. Less traffic, great view. The most disappointing thing would be that the new-bought stopwatch does not work.  Never mind, just use it as a clock.

Four-leaf clover(四叶草)

Four-leaf clover~ lucky finder: Helena, during 西溪湿地 tour in Hanagzhou.

The four-leaf clover is an uncommon variation of the common, three-leaved clover. According to tradition, such leaves bring good luck to their finders, especially if found accidentally. According to legend, each leaf represents something: the first is for faith, the second is for hope, the third is for love, and the fourth is for luck.

Tai Mount Camping Trip

It was crowded, it was cold. I think I need a thicker sleeping bag. But I got to see the sunrise which lasted for like 30 seconds. And ladies and gentlemen, that’s my first time to watch sun rise on mountain top.

Another camping trip is expected to happen in the coming Labour Days. Can’t wait.

Travel and Nostalgia

“Increasingly of late, and particularly when I drink, I find my thoughts drawn into the past rather than impelled into the future. I recall drinking sherry in California and dreaming of my earlier student days in England, where I ate dalmoth and dreamed of Delhi.

What is the purpose, I wonder, of all this restlessness? I sometimes seem to myself to wander around the world merely accumulating material for future nostalgias.”
